APPR
Good pedagogy necessitates review and critique In order to remain relevant and vital. With that in mind, all teachers embrace an annual professional performance review that provides them with meaningful insights to improve their craft and relationship with their students. High stakes testing must be decoupled from this process because it impedes the relationship between student and teacher and places a disproportional emphasis on only one aspect of the teacher student dynamic. A substantive APPR can only be created through cooperative negotiations with all of the stakeholders in a community.
